WNUR Sports is pleased to announce more details about Sportsathon 2012:

We will once again be taking donations this year, in order to reach our fundraising goal of $3,100.00. Those who donate at the $32 level will receive a WNUR Sports t-shirt (they will have a brand new design this year). For donations of $51 or more, one will receive a t-shirt and be entered in a raffle to win one of several prize packages including Northwestern Wildcats non-conference men’s basketball tickets and 2013 Chicago White Sox tickets. Those who donate $79 or more will be entered in the raffle and receive two t-shirts. Additional t-shirts may be received as premiums for every additional $24 donated beyond the $79 level

Donations will be online-only again this year, and we will begin taking them on Saturday October 20, 2012. There will be a link right here on our website for those who want to donate, so check back on October 20th.

We will also have another fantastic group of special-guest interviews throughout Sportsathon 2012, especially during our CatChat program. We will be announcing at least one special guest per day between now and Sportsathon 2012 on both Facebook and Twitter.

The programming schedule for Sportsathon 2012 features a diverse mix of old staples–like CatChat and the football and basketball previews–and new shows–like Northwestern at the Olympics and WNUR Sports Family Feud. Like last year’s Sportsathon, our main event is Northwestern Football vs. Iowa, which begins in the middle of Sportsathon at 11 AM on Saturday.

WNUR Sports will take over the station (WNUR-FM 89.3) and webstreams (http://wnursports.com and http://wnur.org) between 7 PM on Friday, October 26, 2012, and 9 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2012.
