Northwestern has eight football alumni currently on NFL active rosters. Here’s how they did this week in the NFL:

Offensive Players

Jeremy Ebert, Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars (Northwestern Class of 2012):
Backup wide receiver in the Jaguars 30-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Zach Strief, Offensive Tackle, New Orleans Saints (Northwestern Class of 2006):
Starting offensive tackle in the Saints 42-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Defensive Players

Brian Arnfelt, Defensive End, Pittsburgh Steelers (Northwestern Class of 2013):
Inactive in the Steelers 20-7 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Corey Wootton, Defensive End, Chicago Bears (Northwestern Class of 2010):
Three tackles (3 solo) and one quarterback hit in the Bears 33-28 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Corbin Bryant, Defensive Tackle, Buffalo Bills (Northwestern Class of 2010):
One tackle in the Bills 34-20 loss to the New England Patriots.

Barry Cofield, Nose Tackle, Washington Redskins (Northwestern Class of 2006):
Five tackles (3 solo) and one pass defended in the Redskins 20-6 loss to the New York Giants.

Nick Roach, Linebacker, Oakland Raiders (Northwestern Class of 2007):
Six tackles (3 solo) in the Raiders 34-14 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Sherrick McManis, Cornerback, Chicago Bears (Northwestern Class of 2010):
Backup cornerback in the Bears 33-28 loss to the Packers.

Marquice Cole, Cornerback, New England Patriots (Northwestern Class of 2007):
The Patriots released Cole on Dec. 26

Northwestern NFL Player of the Week:

Barry Cofield. Cofield had five tackles (3 solo) and one pass defended in the Redskins 20-6 loss to the Giants. For the season Cofield has 32 tackles (17 solo), 2.5 sacks, four tackles for a loss of nine yards and one pass defended. For his eight-year career with the Redskins and Giants, Cofield has 303 tackles (201 solo), 18.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and three recoveries, 26 passes defended, one kick blocked and 24 tackles for a loss of 60 yards.

At Northwestern Cofield was a three-year starting defensive lineman, playing in 49 games and starting 36. His senior year he was team co-captain and second-team All-Big Ten Coaches Selection. For his career as a Wildcat, Cofield totaled 197 tackles (88 solo), 6.5 sacks, 15.5 tackles for a loss of 38 yards, nine passes defended, four forced fumbles and three recoveries and one interception.
