Selena Lasota named B1G Freshman of the Year
— Northwestern Lax (@NULax) May 4, 2015
This shouldn’t surprise anyone. The freshman from British Columbia has been torching nets all season, finishing second in the conference in goals with 58 in 18 contests. All season long, teams have either had to faceguard and double Lasota, or watch her score hat tricks. Even when the double teams come, Lasota is good for at least a goal or game, and usually two. Northwestern will need Lasota to play big in the postseason if they want to get through a tough side of the bracket that includes the top ranked Maryland Terrapins.
