3-Star DT Jake Saunders commits to Northwestern

The latest member of #NUSquad16 is the second defensive tackle and third defensive lineman in the 13-person class.

Jake Saunders rates as a 3-star defensive end out of Loveland, Ohio.  Measuring in 6-3, 285 pounds, Saunders already has D-1 size, and it shows in his offer list.  Saunders’ top three was thought to be Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin, but he also held offers from Boston College, Maryland, Illinois, and Cincinnati, and Duke and Ohio State, according to 247 Sports, were lurking as well.

Judging purely by the list of teams interested, Saunders appears to be one of the better gets for Northwestern as they look to shore up a position group that is losing a host of players after next season.  Northwestern now needs to fill in some skill position spots, and with Quayvon Skanes due to make a decision within a few weeks and Tre Bryant completing his Northwestern visit a few weeks ago, it shouldn’t be long before we hear more.
