Scheid, a senior at Elk River High School in Elk River, Minnesota, stands at 6’2” and figures to play forward with the Wildcats. A four-star recruit, ESPN ranks her as the 68th-best overall player in the high school class of 2016 and the ninth best at her position.
The fourth-year starter for the Elks is a three-time all-conference player and averaged 18.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game her junior year. She will join Nia Coffey, who played her high school ball at Hopkins, as the only two Minnesota natives on the Wildcat roster.
According to the Elk River Star News Scheid plans on going pre-med as a Northwestern student.
Scheid is the third recruit in Northwestern’s 2016 recruiting class joining four-star post Abbie Wolf and three-star forward Bryana Hopkins.
