AP POLL: Northwestern climbs to #13
Northwestern keeps on winning and, at least according to poll voters, may be close to cracking the nation’s elite group of teams.
The Wildcats are ranked 13th in the latest AP Poll after coming in at #14 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll. The Wildcats jumped past Notre Dame, Georgia, Ole Miss and UCLA, all losers on Saturday. Florida’s big win over Ole Miss vaulted them past NU at #11.
Northwestern remains the highest ranked team in the Big Ten West and third highest in the conference, behind only Ohio State and Michigan State. Oh yeah, and Northwestern hasn’t been ranked this high since late in the 2000 season, a year when they last won a share of the Big Ten title.
Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Michigan moved up to #18 this week after shutting out Maryland and Iowa joined the Top 25 after upsetting Wisconsin to stay undefeated.
