Sportsathon ‘CatChat: Glenn Geffner

Our Michael Stern and Megan O’Brien talked to Glenn Geffner, the current radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Miami Marlins. Geffner graduated from Northwestern in 1990 after serving on the staff at WNUR Sports during his undergraduate career. After some time in the minor leagues, Geffner worked in media relations for the Padres (1997-2002) and Red Sox (2003-2007) before returning to his home state to call Marlin games. Geffner has worked  with several historic teams, serving as PR director for the 1998 National League Champion Padres and VP of Communications for the 2004 curse-breaking Red Sox. He also broadcasted for the 2007 World Champion Red Sox. He talked to Michael and Megan about many things, including his fond memories of a Wildcat basketball upset of Indiana and his advice for aspiring broadcasters.
