With their 30-28 win Saturday in Lincoln, Northwestern secured bowl eligibility for the first time since 2012. The Wildcats went to the Gator Bowl in that 2012 season and defeated Mississippi State 34-20 on New Year’s Day to secure a 10-win season. At 6-2 overall and 2-2 in Big Ten play, Northwestern has an opportunity to earn another New Year’s Day game.
