Northwestern cornerback Nick VanHoose is expected to miss the Outback Bowl with a finger injury according to InsideNU.

VanHoose was injured in practice Saturday and he told InsideNU his he’s expected to recover in six to eight weeks. That timetable would allow VanHoose to participate in pre-draft activities including the East-West Shrine Bowl.

This season VanHoose had 41 tackles (28 solo), 1.0 tackle for a loss, 1 forced fumble, 3 interceptions and 12 pass breakups. He graded out as one of the best CB’s in the country according to College Football Focus.
