Nia Coffey earns AP, WBCA All-America honors

After Northwestern Women’s Basketball forward Nia Coffey was named AP Honorable Mention All-America last week, Nia Coffey added another award to her haul, as she was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division I All-America squad. Coffey earned an honorable mention recognition on the team.

Coffey is the third Wildcat in program history to earn an All-America nod, and the first since Amy Jaeschke in 2010 according to a Northwestern Athletics press release.
Coffey is the first Wildcat in program history to earn a WBCA All-America nod.
Coffey has scored in double figures in 50-straight games, dating back to Jan. 22, 2015, for the third-best streak in program history and had 20-plus points 19 times this season. Coffey’s 18 double-doubles led the Big Ten tied an NU single-season record.
The junior also set the Northwestern single-season record with 344 total rebounds on the year.
Nia Coffey averaged 20.3 PPG and 9.8 RPG this year as the Wildcats finished 18-17, falling to Maryland in the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals and San Diego in the first round of the WNIT.
