‘Cats sweep Rutgers; Clinch Big Ten Tournament Berth

For the first time since 2010, the Northwestern Wildcats will play postseason baseball. The Wildcats swept Rutgers by a total series score of 23-4, ensuring a top-8 finish in the Big Ten with a 13-11 record (24-28 overall). They will head to Bloomington for the first day of action on Wednesday. Their opponent is still to be determined in the double-elimination tournament.

The ‘Cats have been on fire lately, winning three straight series and going 18-11 since the beginning of April. This marks a remarkable improvement for the Wildcats in their second year under head coach Spencer Allen. Last year, the Wildcats went 15-39 overall and 7-17 in Big Ten play.

The Big Ten tournament times are TBD, but the broadcasts will be on air on 89.3 FM in the Evanston/Chicago area, and online here. Sam Brief and Amit Mallik will be on the calls.
