Four-star recruit Rowan Brumbaugh commits to Northwestern men’s basketball

Four-star recruit Rowan Brumbaugh, a class of 2022 point guard, announced his commitment to Northwestern via Twitter Monday. Brumbaugh is one of the highest-ranked recruits in program history; he’s ranked 86th nationally in the 247 Sports composite for the class of 2022.

The 6-foot-4-inch Washington, D.C.-native currently plays at Northfield Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts. 247 Sports ranks him as the No. 10 point guard and No. 3 Massachusetts recruit in his class.

During his selection process, Brumbaugh had offers from several top programs, including Georgetown, Maryland, Wisconsin, Butler, Oregon and Kansas. Northwestern officially gave Brumbaugh an offer on May 24, and he took an official visit June 28.

In an interview with On3’s Joe Tipton, Brumbaugh said that he has a “great relationship with Coach Collins,” which helped guide his decision to commit to Northwestern.

Brumbaugh’s commitment is a major win for Collins’ program, and he will certainly be a player to watch when he arrives in Evanston next fall. The guard could potentially see a lot of playing time as a first-year, while also competing with other NU guards like Boo Buie, Ty Berry and Julian Roper.
