Who Are We?
WNUR Sports is the broadcast home for Northwestern Wildcats athletics. We can be found over the air at 89.3 FM in Evanston and Chicago and right here on our website worldwide. Fans can also like our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok to keep up to date with WNUR Sports and Northwestern athletics.
WNUR Sports is the flagship radio station for Northwestern women’s basketball and baseball teams. We broadcast every football game, including all postseason bowl games. We also broadcast many men’s basketball games, including every game in Evanston. WNUR Sports is the only place you can hear the Northwestern Wildcats compete in volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball and women’s lacrosse. We’ve broadcasted each of the women’s lacrosse team’s eight consecutive appearances in the national championship game (including seven National Championships).
Every Sunday at 7 PM Central Time during the school year, WNUR Sports brings you a two-hour block of sports talk, including the SportsVoice, the only radio call-in show dedicated to Northwestern sports. During the show, the week’s hosts interview Northwestern players and coaches.
In addition to our radio presence, we provide loads of content for our listeners and readers both on our website and through social media. This includes game previews, recaps, features and some other creative stories.
WNUR Sports has also produced a plethora of prominent media personalities over the years, including but not limited to: WGN Sports Director and Northwestern Play-by-Play Broadcaster Dave Eanet, Dave Revsine of the Big Ten Network, Miami Marlins’ Radio Broadcaster Glenn Geffner, ESPN anchor Steve Weissman, sports business reporter Darren Rovell and Washington Post Columnist and ESPN Contributor Kevin Blackistone. As always…GO ’CATS!
Austin Miller – one of the best play- by- play announcers I have heard in a while. Knows the players on both teams and the game.
