SPORTS DIRECTORS
Austin Miller (@austin_james906) is a rising junior from Raleigh, NC. His two favorite sports are soccer and basketball. When he’s not working for WNUR, Austin is most likely watching a soccer match from somewhere around the world. He is a fan of the Brazilian club Palmeiras, as well as England’s Stoke City. On top of his work with WNUR, Austin also writes for The Botafogo Star, a blog on Brazilian soccer, and podcasts on South American soccer for World Football Index.
Michael Stern (@michaeljstern23) is a rising senior studying journalism with a minor in history. Born in Iowa, he moved to southern California (Irvine to be exact) in the summer of 2002 and has been a sports fan ever since. He’s been following the Angels since their 2002 World Series run, and is also a fan of the Lakers. Michael hopes to work in sports journalism someday, either as a baseball play-by-play announcer or as a reporter/columnist. Michael is not related to David Stern, so don’t blame him for the potential fixing of the NBA Draft Lottery or playoffs. He does have a younger sister, Sarah, a college sophomore famous for frequently contending in the family March Madness bracket challenge despite selecting her winners based on their team mascots.
ONLINE EDITORIAL STAFF
Ari Ross (@aross50) is a rising senior majoring in journalism, economics and IMC. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and is a huge Cleveland sports fan, suffering through losing season after losing season since 1995. Ross also is involved with Big Ten Digital Network and Northwestern Hillel on campus. This summer Ari will be interning as a play-by-play broadcaster with the Battle Creek Bombers in the Northwoods League. Ari hopes to one day pursue a career in sports broadcasting and possibly work for ESPN.

Will Greer (@willy_nillie) is a rising junior, majoring in broadcast journalism, from the United States’ only city with a metropolitan whitewater river: Richmond, Virginia. Greer is a huge fan of both college and pro sports, with his favorite teams often losing more games than they win. His strong character comes from years of heartbreak, most notably from the Minnesota Timberwolves, Chicago Cubs and Virginia Cavaliers. Greer is also a member of NNN Sportsnight at Northwestern, where he helps to produce a weekly 30-minute Northwestern sports TV show. He wants to be a basketball or baseball play-by-play broadcaster one day.

Ryan Fish (@RyanMFish) is a rising senior from Orland Park, Illinois, studying journalism. Along with being a globally renowned dancer and poet, Fish enjoys watching and playing basketball in his free time. He is a movie enthusiast and long-suffering Cubs fan (#WorldSeries2K15). Fish also enjoys writing and covering Northwestern athletics, while he particularly dislikes pickles, long lines at Chipotle and the Green Bay Packers.

Matt McHugh (@mattmcsports27) is a rising sophomore studying journalism. He’s from the Bay Area and only roots for the good local sports teams (A’s, Raiders, Warriors and Sharks). His favorite sport is baseball, and hopes one day to get paid for doing something related to it. He likes dishing out hot takes (Derek Carr for MVP) and enjoys bumping some good ol’ country music in his spare time.

SPORTSVOICE PRODUCERS

Sam Brief (@sambrief) is a rising sophomore studying journalism. He was born and raised in Highland Park, Illinois—a Chicagoland suburb—and has been a die-hard Chicago sports fan his whole life, rooting for the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox (yes, not the Cubs). Sam has worked in journalism and broadcasting since his sophomore year of high school and hopes to work as a reporter/host or as a play-by-play man for baseball, basketball or football. His proudest accomplishment is winning his bracket in 5th grade by picking all one-seeds to make the Final Four—the first time in NCAA history such a feat occurred.

Henry DaMour (@henrydamour) is rising sophomore studying biomedical engineering. Born in Brazil, he’s lived in Singapore, China, Michigan, and Newport Beach, CA. Despite all this, his sports allegiances lie with Detroit, and his favorite team is the Tigers. Henry hopes to work as a physician one day, either as an ER doctor or a neurosurgeon. Broadcasting for the Tigers on Fox Sports Detroit would be great as well. His younger sister Julia is making good choices as well and following the Motor City kitties. DaMour is a proud brother. Outside of WNUR Sports, he is a member of Phi Delta Theta and its ridiculously good IM softball team.

MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
Alex Lederman, a rising senior majoring in journalism, is a lifelong Mets, Jets and Knicks fan who decided his existence wasn’t tortured enough, so he added Northwestern to the list. He enjoys screaming at his television when everything inevitably goes wrong with his teams and believes he’ll die young from the stress they cause. At NU, he studies journalism and political science and also works for The Daily Northwestern, Northwestern News Network, BTN Plus and WNUR News. He doesn’t sleep very much.
SPORTSATHON DIRECTOR/SPORTS DIRECTOR EMERITUS
Jason Dorow (@jasondorow) is a rising senior majoring in journalism and minoring in business institutions. Hailing from Burnsville, Minnesota, a suburb of the Twin Cities, Dorow is a big fan of his hometown teams, particularly the Twins and Vikings. He is also an avid golfer, member of the NU club basketball team, fan of hip-hop/rap music and writer at InsideNU. Dorow spent the past summer as the radio broadcaster and media relations intern for the Wisconsin Woodchucks of the Northwoods League, and he hopes to carry his passion for sports and journalism into his future profession.
