7 In 8! National Champions Again!

Northwestern Women’s Lacrosse beats Syracuse in the National Championship Game to win their 7th title in 8 years. The dynasty lives! Here are the highlights from another phenomenal championship game.

FIRST HALF:

Webster puts Syracuse up 1-0.

Syracuse takes the lead 2-0.

Russo scores for Northwestern to put them on the board. 2-1 Orange.

Holden scores for Syracuse to make it 3-1 Orange.

Fitzgerald brings the Wildcats back to within 3-2 with a goal of her own.

Kempney puts Syracuse up 4-2.

Macaluso’s goal makes it 4-3.

Smith assists Bocklet, who ties it up at 4 a piece for the Wildcats.

Smith gives Northwestern a 5-4 lead.

SECOND HALF:

Smith puts Northwestern up 6-4.

Murray scores for Syracuse to cut it to 6-5.

Syracuse ties it at 6 a piece.

Thornton cements her place in Northwestern history, putting scoring a huge goal for the Wildcats and putting them up for good, 7-6.

Fitzgerald adds to the Wildcat lead, making it 8-6 in the final minutes of the game.

Northwestern is, once again, NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
