Big Ten Pro Basketball Recap: Week of Feb. 16

WNUR’s Ari Ross (@aross50) recaps the past week for former Big Ten and Northwestern basketball players in the pros.

While Northwestern has no basketball alums currently playing in the NBA, the Big Ten Conference has 30 alums playing for NBA Teams.

Here’s how Big Ten basketball alums from three Big Ten schools are performing in the NBA and overseas and their best game this past week:

Game of the Week:
Williams had 13 points on 4 of 11 shooting (1 of 5 3PT); seven assists and three rebounds in 105-89 win over the Charlotte Bobcats Feb. 12.

All Star Results:
Hardaway had 36 points on 12 of 23 shooting, two assists and one rebound in the NBA Rising Stars challenge for Team Webber, who lost 142-136 to Team Hill.
Burke and Trail Blazers PG Damian Lillard won the NBA All-Star Skills Challenge beating 76ers PG Michael Carter-Williams and Orlando Magic SG Victor Oladipo, by one tenth of a second with a time of 45.2 seconds in the final round.

Hachad had 17 points on 5 of 9 shooting (3 of 5 3PT); four rebounds and one assist in a 78-76 loss to Hyeres-Toulon Var Basket. For the season, Hachad is averaging 12.00 PPG (.430 FG%), 5.52 RPG, 2.11 APG, 1.52 SPG and 0.11 BPG. Hachad was born in Casablanca, Morocco, but grew in Montreal. Hachad played for Morocco in the 2009 FIBA Africa Championship, averaging 13.2 PPG, 6.3 RPG and 5.3 APG and leading Morocco to a 12th place finish. At Northwestern Hachad majored in economics while playing in 111 games, 84 of which he started.
