Northwestern women’s basketball came in at no. 19 in the preseason AP media poll.

It’s the first time in 25 years that the ‘Cats have cracked the preseason poll and only the third time in program history. NU is one of four Big Ten teams to be tabbed in the nation’s top 25.

The Wildcats were ranked for four weeks last season and finished with a 23-9 record after losing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Northwestern also made the USA Today Coaches Poll, sliding in at 24th in the country.
